Cannescape's 4/20 Dinner & Overnight Celebration at Mendocino Grove - 2025
Cannescape returned to Mendocino Grove—an award-winning glamping destination on Northern California’s rugged Mendocino Coast—for a two-night 4/20 retreat designed to blend elevated hospitality, cannabis education, and immersive culinary experiences. Nestled beneath towering redwoods, guests were invited into a thoughtfully curated weekend featuring infused cuisine by Chef Haejin Chun of Big Bad Wolf SF, wellness programming in partnership with Green Bee Botanicals, educational conversations led by Jackie Simion, and curated beverage experiences by Jamie Evans.
The weekend kicked off with a welcome cocktail hour featuring CBD and cannabis-infused beverages, light bites, and a meet-and-greet with Chef Haejin Chun and event partners. Guests gathered around the fire as the sun set through the redwoods, setting the tone for a relaxed and social start to the retreat.
The culinary program unfolded across two evenings. Night one featured a family-style infused dinner highlighting seasonal, farm-driven ingredients with Chef Chun’s signature contemporary Californian approach layered with Korean influence. Night two’s main event was a multi-course infused tasting menu designed to showcase the bounty of spring, with cannabis from Sonoma Hills Farm thoughtfully integrated throughout each course. Known for her inventive techniques, Chun incorporated elements such as infused brown butter, live resin sesame oil, and kief honey—bringing both depth of flavor and intention to each dish.
Throughout the weekend, beverage programming was led by Jamie Evans, who curated a series of non-alcoholic cocktail experiences and pairing moments, including a dedicated beverage bar and collaborations with Artet and Missing Thorn. Guests also participated in a playful “Dankest Over-The-Top Bloody Mary” competition inspired by the High Times Cookbook, adding a social and interactive layer to the experience.
Mornings began with curated breakfast bars featuring fresh, seasonal offerings alongside non-alcoholic beverage pairings, creating a slow and restorative start to each day. Guests were encouraged to explore the property’s amenities, including a sauna, hiking trails, yoga sessions, fire pits, and open-air lounging spaces designed to fully embrace the natural surroundings.
A key component of the retreat was education and wellness. Guests participated in a workshop and Q&A led by Jackie Simion in partnership with Green Bee Botanicals, exploring how cannabis can be incorporated into daily rituals with intention. The session was complemented by hands-on experiences, including botanical bath salt making and wellness-focused discussions centered on balance, self-discovery, and responsible use. An interactive chef demo further offered insight into how to infuse food and beverages at home.
The weekend also included optional guided hikes and breathwork sessions overlooking the Mendocino coastline, along with curated surprises designed to enhance moments of connection and discovery throughout the retreat.
This year’s retreat was supported by a curated group of partners including Sonoma Hills Farm, Green Bee Botanicals, Artet, Missing Thorn, Garden Society, Maison Bloom, and more—each contributing to an experience rooted in quality, education, and Northern California’s agricultural richness.
