The 4/20 Harvest Table at San Francisco’s SHACK15
Cannescape partnered with ONA.life and Jamie Evans, The Herb Somm, to host an immersive 4/20 dinner at SHACK15 in the heart of San Francisco, inviting guests to explore the relationship between terpenes, terroir, and flavor through an elevated culinary experience. Blending cannabis education with seasonal cuisine, the evening featured chef-curated dishes, CBD-infused cocktails, guided sensory tastings, and conversations centered on the science and artistry of aroma.
Guests began the evening with a welcome reception featuring a Rhubarb Mint Paloma and Blood Orange Shrub Shooter, thoughtfully crafted by Evans to introduce the evening's focus on botanical flavors and terpene expression. Throughout the dinner, Cannescape guided guests through the fundamentals of terpenes and flavor perception, while Sonoma Hills Farm explored how terroir and cultivation practices influence the aromatic profiles of cannabis and other botanicals.
The harvest table showcased a seasonal menu highlighting Northern California ingredients, including Caesar salad, roasted asparagus, herb marble potatoes, local Dungeness crab rice, lemon roasted chicken, and local black cod. Each dish was designed to complement featured terpene profiles, encouraging guests to compare aromas, flavors, and textures while discovering the natural connections between fresh herbs, cannabis, and cuisine. ONA.life further enhanced the experience with infused delicacies throughout the evening.
To conclude the dinner, guests participated in an interactive sensory pairing led by Evans and Jackie Simieon, exploring some of cannabis' most recognizable terpene profiles alongside handcrafted chocolates inspired by complementary flavor compounds. The tasting featured cherry pâte de fruit with lime ganache in white chocolate, crunchy toasted rice with roasted green tea in dark chocolate, and vanilla bean ganache infused with sassafras, coriander, and mint in milk chocolate, demonstrating how aroma can shape the perception of both cannabis and food.
Held inside SHACK15's iconic space overlooking the San Francisco Bay, the event brought together curious diners, cannabis enthusiasts, and hospitality professionals for a sophisticated 4/20 celebration rooted in education, community, and exceptional culinary experiences.
