Cannescape’s Valentine’s & Galentine’s Retreat in Wine Country

Cannescape guests gathered for an unforgettable Valentine’s and Galentine’s overnight retreat in the heart of California’s famed Russian River Valley. Nestled among the redwoods, this intimate experience took place at a luxurious 3,500 sq. ft. Mediterranean-style hilltop villa in Forestville, offering sweeping views, cozy fireplaces, and expansive grounds perfect for unwinding.

Designed for couples and best friends alike, the weekend focused on connection, relaxation, and self-discovery. Guests enjoyed private king suites with en-suite bathrooms, a hot tub under the stars, and curated experiences that blended cannabis, cuisine, and wellness.

Highlights included a wine, chocolate, and cannabis pairing hosted by certified sommelier and 4X cookbook author Jamie Evans, with local chocolates by KZ Chocolates and a premium Zenco vaping experience. Evans, alongside award-winning cultivator Marty of Martyjuana—an all-natural craft cannabis farm in Mendocino—led guests through an immersive workshop exploring the art of pairing. Together, they unpacked how different wine varietals complement specific cannabis strains and terpene profiles, and how both can be elevated further with thoughtfully selected chocolates.

The evening kicked off with a CBD welcome cocktail happy hour led by Evans in partnership with Artet, where guests mixed and mingled as the sun set below the redwoods in the distance.

Chef Solomon Johnson, winner of Chopped 420, crafted two five-course infused fine dining dinner using fresh, seasonal ingredients, paired with wines from Brendel and Missing Thorne.

Night one’s menu featured a Shaved Brussels Salad with Pomegranate, Feta, Balsamic, Red Onion, Sun Flower Seeds; a Coconut Bisque Soup with Macerated Pineapple, Puffed Rice, Rum, Cilantro Oil; a Roasted Sweet Potato with Poblano Purée, Spiced Pepitas, Lardon, Hot Honey; a Herb De Provence Chicken with Prosciutto, Polenta, Crispy Shallot, Southern Gravy; and a Strawberry Short Cake.

Night two’s menu featured a Tomato Bisque Soup with Salsa Creole; a Kale and Kimchi Salad with Sunflower Seeds, Shaved Parmesan; a Misto Frito with Brassicas, Carrot, Radish; a Ran Seared Salmon with Sweet Potato Purée, Farro, Brassicas, Polenta Cakes; and a Brown Sugar Shortbread with Caramel Corn, Seasonal Fruit, UC Berkeley Apiary Honey.

Guests woke to a made-to-order breakfast featuring farm fresh egg dishes, duck hash, fruits and breakfast goodies. Guests enjoy a non-alcoholic mimosa bar and tea and coffee were also offered.

The weekend also featured a “Cannabis for Wellness, Self-Discovery & Deeper Connections” workshop that focused on how cannabis can enhance personal relations, along with a Q+A with Jackie Simion, President of the Napa Valley Cannabis Association in partnership with award winning Green Bee Botanical skin care products.

Set against a backdrop of scenic sunrises and flower-filled patios, this retreat offered guests the perfect balance of luxurious amenities, engaging conversation, and time to connect with their favorite person.
